Thanks to a good friend who was nice enough to tape runs for the team I now have videos of WAO to share!! This first video is Zip and I in Snooker. It was the first of two rounds in the Games division. There were 3 reds and the #7 obstacle was a lone jump tucked in the middle of lots of other things. I had one bobble which just cost us a few precious seconds but we managed to get through completing all three #7 obstacles and the close. We ended up in 1st place in this round. Way to go Zippy!!
This next video is Gamblers, it was the following day and was the second and final round of the Games division. We started off ok but then Zip caught wind of the barn cat that had been lurking around all weekend. He has never been distracted in the middle of a run so the “eu de kitty” must have been pretty potent!! Since we wasted time sniffing we were only able to do one A-frame/tunnel combination. Turns out we were right on the money when the buzzer went off which was a good thing since the gamble time was tight. Zippy was a star and got the Gamble. Unfortunately I let Zippy down by stepping on the Gamble line too soon. We were allowed to step over the line after the dog stepped into the tunnel but I stepped on the line just before he got in. Bad handler!! Since we placed well in round one we still ended up with a Silver medal in the Games division.
This last run is the Team Pentathlon Jumping 1. The team classes are scored by adding together the 3 dogs (3 different jump heights) from each team that compete in that class. For this particular class it was Rosanne DeMasico and Drifter, Jenn Crank and Blaster and myself. Zippy did great and Team USA ended up with a first place in this class.
